+ Atlas Petroleum Markets (Canada) Ltd. and TradeX Markets Canada Inc. formed a strategic partnership

+ Calgary International Airport ne-named/re-branded itself ahead of its upcoming expansion, due to open October 31; now operating as “YYC Calgary International Airport”- a move criticized by man for not recognizing a Calgarian (ie: McColl, Lougheed, Hays, Bennett, Burns, Cross etc.); important, or tsk-tsk?

+ Suncor Energy UK Limited closed its acquisition of the North Sea Rosebank project from OMV (U.K) Limited for US$165 million

+ The Conference Board of Canada published its ‘Canadian Oil Extraction Industry’ outlook report; ignore their typo – they didn’t really mean Summer 2016

+ U.S. election watch: but, will she have coattails? In the wake of Trump revelations and Republicans un-endorsing Trump (imagine lemmings in reverse slo-mo) calls into question whether Democrats might regain control of the House and possibly the Senate. Republicans, as a party, are probably far more damaged by recent events than is ‘the Donald’ whose lack-of-grip becomes more apparent daily … tic toc

Canada’s ratification, as with that of U.S. and China, are policy statements at least and political statements for sure – so we should check back in 5-10 years to see who, if any, of the COP21 fan-club actually stood by their commitments in face of competing values from every sector of society … tic toc
