+ Calgary Unemployment rate – 9.5% at the end of September

+ Infrastructure Ontario short-listed prequalified teams to bid on: design, build, finance and maintain project for a new Toronto courthouse; Plenary Justice and Ellis Don Infrastructure

+ PwC Canada published a report about the future of utilities: How energy transformation is sharing Canada’s utilities sector

+ Urban Communications Inc. acquired a downtown Vancouver private network for $2.2 million; adding 9.3 km. of fibre allows Urban to provide Gigabit service to home and office in high density corridors, adding 5,900 customers

+ GOA is on the market for solar; they’ve issued and RFI for procuring solar power to replace its green energy contracts which expire at the end of 2017; they are currently purchasing 135,000

+ Shell Western LNG signed a framework deal with Carnival Corp. (Carnival and Costa cruise fleet operators) to provide LNG for LNG-powered cruise ship – two of which are set to launch in 2019 ..

+ Trudeau government passed a resolution to ratify the Paris climate change accord; vote was 207 to 81. Canada’s ratification, as with that of U.S. and China, are policy statements at least and political statements for sure – so we should check back in 5-10 years to see who, if any, of the COP21 fan-club actually stood by their commitments in face of competing values from every sector of society … tic toc
